Frequently Asked Questions
What currencies are included in the exchange rate table?
+
The table covers 20 major world currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, AUD, CAD, CHF, HKD, SEK, NOK, DKK, NZD, SGD, MXN, ZAR, BRL, INR, KRW, and TRY. These are the currencies published in the European Central Bank's daily reference rate dataset.
How do I change the base currency for the table?
+
Use the base currency selector at the top of the table. When you select a new base, all rates in the table update instantly to show how much of each currency one unit of your chosen base buys. The URL also updates so you can bookmark or share the view.
What is the source of these exchange rates?
+
All rates come from the Frankfurter API, which redistributes the European Central Bank's official daily reference rates. The ECB publishes rates on every TARGET2 business day (weekdays excluding ECB holidays) at approximately 16:00 CET.
Are these rates suitable for commercial transactions?
+
These are mid-market reference rates intended for informational and educational use. They do not include the spreads or fees that banks, brokers, or payment processors charge. For actual money transfers or business FX, always confirm the rate with your service provider.
Why do some currencies show no rate on weekends?
+
The ECB only publishes rates on business days. On weekends and public holidays, our server returns the most recently cached rate, so the 'last updated' date may be the previous business day. The rates themselves are still valid reference points.
